How to Setup and Use Swapper 2 ?

Requirements (a must have):



1. Rooted Android Phone

2. Minitool Partition Wizard (PC Application)

3. Micro sd card

4. card reader

5. Android Terminal Emulator

6. Swapper2 for Root Users

7. Computer(PC, Netbook, Laptop)

A:Partitioning of SD Card

1. Install Minitool Partition Wizard on your computer after you download it.

2. Your SD Card should be inserted to the USB card reader then put the USB card reader on your PC/Laptop

3. launch the MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition.
--Note: Use this application carefully, you may delete or partition a wrong drive)
. From there your Micro SD card should appear below

4.) To make a partition, delete the partition of the SD Card, by simply right-click on the highlighted/selected partition then click Delete.

5.) As you can see it will turn to unallocated file system, right-click it again, then this time, choose Create. 
*Choose FAT32 as your filesystem, 
*Create As Primary 
* then on Size and Location choose your appropriate capacity. 
>>afterwards you’ll able to see the partition filesystem (FAT32).
---NOTE:
For 2GB or smaller capacity of Micro SD card. Choose File System: FAT
For 4GB or bigger capacity of Micro SD card. Choose File System: FAT32

6.) repeat steps 4-5, but this time
*choose EXT2 as file system 
* create as Primary

>>>OPTIONAL 
Partition size: MIN: 256 MB MAX: 1024MB (1GB)

Note: I personally add this #6 tutorial so that you can use Link2SD.

7.) repeat 4-5 again but this time.
then 
* choose Linux swap as ur filesystem 
* create as Primary

>>>>OPTIONAL
Linuxswap partition size: MIN: 32MB MAX: 1024MB(1GB)

8.) When you all done on creating the partitions, its time to make it permanent. To do that, click Apply on the upper left corner on the menu.

Then click Yes to apply to changes. 

Wait until it finish, then exit

B. Checking of partition in your android phone.


1.After you attain process A, you need an Android Terminal Emulator.

2.Install and Launch Android Terminal Emulator

a. type the command on the terminal: busybox free

then press enter key 
*As you can see, the swap (linux swap partition) has 0 values on its fields.

b. Type on the terminal: cd /dev/block then press enter key.Note: after typing cd, put space then /dev/block

c. then type: ls then press enter key.
Note: its "el-es" not "ay-es".

after typing ls, you will see mmcblk0p3, it is your linux swap partition. if you see,mmcblk0p1>this is your fat32/fat partition, mmcblk0p2>>is your ext2 partition.

>> If you follow my steps on how to partition Micro SD card via Minitool. then more possible "mmcblk0p3" is your linux swap partiton.

C. Configuring Swapper2

1. Download and Install. Swapper2 (of course) After installing

2. open mo ung swapper app then go to Menu > Settings Swapper preferences


3. Run swapper at startup(put a check)


4. Swap place:/sd card/swapfile.swp (you can place it in a folder if you don't like a messy sd card structure )


5. Swap size:MAX:256MB RECOMMENDED:32MB (choose any)


6. Swapiness:MAX:100MB (choose any)


7. Safe unmount (put a check)


8. Safe remount (put a check)


9. Tap Advanced preferences

10. Use swap partition (put a check)

11. Swap partition:/dev/block/mmcblk0p3

12. After setting preferences, press back and tap on "ON" to turn on swap.

13. Reboot.

14. afterwards, go to terminal emulator type "free" now if the swap is 0 this does not work but if not, congratulations it works.
Important Notice: may ext2 partition pang natitira, pwede mo pang gamitin ito para sa Link2SD.
